How do mystery boxes work?

You purchase Credits, choose a Mystery Box, and open it. Our provably fair system uses HMAC-SHA256 cryptography to generate a random roll (0–9999). This roll is mapped against each item's probability weight in the box to determine your prize. You can verify every result independently using our Verify Tool.

Is MysteryBoxAU provably fair?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every box open uses a server seed (committed via SHA-256 hash before opening), your client seed, and a sequential nonce to produce a roll via HMAC-SHA256. Neither we nor you can influence the result once seeds are committed. After rotating seeds, the server seed is revealed so you can check every historical result. What payment methods are accepted?

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and select digital wallets via Stripe. All transactions are processed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and secured with 256-bit SSL encryption. We do not store your card details.

Are Credits refundable?

Accepted Answer

Credits are a non-refundable virtual currency once applied to your account, except where required by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). If you experience a technical error preventing you from opening a box you paid for, please contact our support team immediately.

How do I claim a physical prize?

Accepted Answer

After winning a physical prize, go to your Inventory page and click 'Claim'. Enter your Australian shipping address and pay the $22 AUD flat-rate shipping fee. Physical prizes are dispatched from our Australian warehouse within 1–3 business days and typically delivered within 3–7 business days.

How do I claim a digital prize?

Digital prizes (gift cards, codes, subscriptions) are delivered to your registered email address within 24 hours of claiming from your Inventory. If you have not received your digital prize within 24 hours, check your spam folder and then contact support.

Can I sell prizes back for Credits?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each prize in your inventory shows a 'Sell Back' value in Credits. Selling back is instant and the Credits are added to your balance immediately. Sell-back values are set at box creation and are displayed before you open a box.

Is there an age requirement?

Accepted Answer

Yes — you must be 18 years or older to use MysteryBoxAU. We require date of birth at registration and may request government-issued ID to verify age at any time. Accounts found to belong to underage users will be permanently suspended.

What happens if I forget my password?

Click 'Forgot Password' on the login page and enter your registered email. You'll receive a password reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive. For additional account recovery assistance, contact support@mysteryboxau.com.au.

Do you ship outside Australia?

Currently, MysteryBoxAU ships physical prizes to Australian addresses only. Digital prizes can be redeemed anywhere. We aim to expand international shipping in the future — sign up for our newsletter to be notified.

How long do I have to claim a prize?

Accepted Answer

Prizes must be claimed within 20 days of winning. After 20 days, unclaimed prizes expire and are forfeited. We'll send reminder emails before expiry.

How do I change my client seed?

Accepted Answer

Go to your Account Settings and find the 'Seed Management' section. You can enter a custom client seed or generate a random one. Changing your client seed does not affect pending results — it takes effect from your next box open.
